Maxim Gerasimenko is an inimitable bartender who mixes efficient service with trend-worthy creativity and an innate sense of hospitality. After his 2011 move to San Francisco, he quickly climbed the Bay Area’s mountain of notable bars and restaurants. He’s seen it all, from high-volume service at destinations such as Rye and 15 Romolo, to food-driven craft cocktails at The Alembic, to managing the team at the legendary music hall turned supper club, Cafe du Nord. Since 2017 Max has been mixing drinks and making smiles at Trick Dog, undoubtedly one of the world’s most creative, admired, and awarded cocktail bars.

Besides taking care of guests, Max is also a dedicated member of his community. He served two terms on the US Bartenders’ Guild – San Francisco Chapter council, where he helped the non-profit trade association organize fundraisers, seminars, tastings, and cocktail competitions. His objective and moral decision-making, paired with scrupulous accounting skills, rooted him as an invaluable Treasurer for the Guild and as a reliable friend to bartenders everywhere. Max’s love of cocktail and portrait photography has become an indispensable tool for successful businesses, while his lively sense of humour and bottomless supply of puns define his affable personality. Max lives in Oakland, CA with his wife Suzi and their two dogs, Maggie and Penny.
